It's been quite a year for random celebrity breakups no one saw coming, and Christina Hall and Josh Hall just added their names to the list. The former couple reportedly filed for divorce on July 15 after less than three years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason (and the date of separation as July 7).
So...what went wrong?
A source tells People that the pair (who worked together on multiple HGTV shows including upcoming series The Flip Off) have "had issues in the marriage for quite some time."
Somewhat awkwardly, The Flip Off isn't premiering until 2025, and stars Christina and Josh alongside Christina's ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather El Moussa (from Selling Sunset). TBD on how the divorce could impact the show but...yikes!
According to TMZ (who broke news of the split), Josh—who is seeking alimony—wants the court to "eliminate" Christina's "ability to collect from him." He also wants rights to the HGTV / Discovery Network shows they made together. Meanwhile, E! News reports that Christina's asked that "the court's ability to award [Josh] alimony be terminated."
Just FYI, Christina actually gave an interview to E! News "ahead of her July 9 birthday" (so...right around the time of her and Josh's split), telling the outlet that "being communicative" is the key to her marriage. "Keep communication open," she said, adding "and then having alone time when we can, whether it's date night, going on little trips—just things like that."
