"Scrumdiddlyumptious" From Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Is Now in the Dictionary

Scrumdiddlyumptious, your favorite word from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is officially in the dictionary and the world feels like a much happier place because of it.

In honor of what would have been author Roald Dahl's 100th birthday, the Oxford English Dictionary included a range of words from Dahl's writing in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach.

Never forget the moment that Charlie opened his Scrumdiddlyumptious bar in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the 1971 film adaption of the book. Scrumdiddlyumptious has to be the best word of all time, I think? It's just so fun to say! I can't be the only one.

Here's how the Oxford English Dictionary is defining the word:

Scrumdiddlyumptious, adj: Extremely scrumptious; excellent, splendid; (esp. of food) delicious.

The dictionary also added "human bean," "a humorous alteration or mispronunciation of human being from James and the Giant Peach. "

If you need me, I'll be making my food Instagram captions "Scrumdiddlyumptious 😍."
