The eight-part action-comedy follows a Taipei gangster who, after his father is shot by a mysterious assassin, has to find out who the attempted killer is while trying to protect his mother and younger brother, who didn't know the truth about his crime family until now.
So, is Charles able to protect Eileen and Bruce? Plus, who was behind Big Sun's attempted assassination? Brace yourself, because here is the explosive ending of The Brothers Sun explained.
Big Sun orders Charles to kill Eileen and Bruce
As their leadership meeting was interrupted by brutal rival gang, the Boxers, and the police, we learn that Bruce's classmate and love interest, Grace, was actually a member of the Boxers all along and she is soon killed by June as revenge for May's death.
The Suns are able to make it out alive, while every Taiwanese triad figure is now either dead or behind bars, including the Boxers. Eileen and Bruce head to a motel while Big Sun – who faked his coma after being shot by the Boxers – and Charles return to the safe house.
Here, Big Sun then shockingly orders Charles to kill his mother and brother for her plan to take over as gang leader. Soon, Charles arrives at the motel where he confronts Bruce for telling the Boxers about the meeting. But, he refuses to kill him.
Next, Eileen, Charles and Bruce discuss what to do next with Bruce suggesting that the only way out is to kill Big Sun. Here, Charles also realises that the Alexis planted a tracker on him which is how the police knew about the meeting.

Charles asks his father for permission to leave
After refusing to go through with Big Sun's orders, Charles pleads with his father for permission to leave the criminal life behind and remain in Los Angeles with his mother and brother.
But, Big Sun tells him that there is no way out and reveals that Xing knows where Bruce and Eileen are, to which Charles goes after Xing but is soon arrested by the police.
Here, Alexis orders Charles to tell her where Big Sun is, but he refuses.

Soon, Xing arrives at the motel where her and Eileen fight and Eileen narrowly escapes by strangling Xing to death. Then, Alexis calls Bruce and he arrives at the police station and tells Charles that he will be the one to kill their father, Big Sun.
Bruce tells Alexis they don't work with cops then arrives at the safe house and threatens to shoot his father, who asks Bruce to come back to Taiwan with him to rule the criminal underworld.
But, Bruce shoots Big Sun instead and says he can either bleed out or call the ambulance, to which he will be arrested. So, Big Sun calls the ambulance.
Eileen leaves for Taiwan

Some time after Big Sun is arrested, Eileen tells Bruce and Charles she wants to go back to Taiwan to lead the Jade Dragons. Then, she arrives at the hospital where Big Sun is being cared for and injects him with insulin he doesn't need, immobilising him.
We then see Charles as he opens a bakery translated to 'Little Fatty' and Bruce back at university while performing improvisation. Soon, Eileen departs for Taipei with June and Charles decides to follow her, leaving the bakeries behind for now.
But, in a post-credits scene, we see Big Sun’s right-hand man, Yuan, told by a mysterious man that the police have hidden Frank Ma — who has a valuable testimony against the other Triad family heads.
Then, Yuan simply laughs when he’s told Frank Ma won’t be found before the trial. What does this mean?!
