Beetlejuice, beetlejuice, beetlejuice! If you're a fan of the iconic 1988 film, then it’s showtime as a sequel is coming to cinemas starring Jenna Ortega, Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton and more.
The highly-anticipated follow-up to the film, directed by Tim Burton, has been in the works for years before Brad Pitt’s production company joined the project and we can't wait for more gothic madness in the new movie.

Is there a trailer for Beetlejuice 2?
Yes there is! The official trailer was released on 18th July, and we see Lydia summon Beetlejuice to help save her daughter, Astrid. Plus, we get our first look at William Dafoe and Monica Belluci’s characters. Watch the trailer here:
Another trailer dropped on 22nd May, which gave us a look at Winona as Lydia, who is explaining to her daughter Astrid, played by Jenna, that she was once terrorised by a man named Beetlejuice:

What is the actual name of the Beetlejuice 2 sequel?
On the 1st February 2024, director Tim Burton revealed the name of the second Beetlejuice film, while also sharing a first look teaser poster for the project.
"The wait is almost over" the poster read, and at the bottom, the name of the sequel was officially announced as Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Love!
When was Beetlejuice 2 announced?
The sequel has been been discussed for many years by cast Winona Ryder and Micheal Keaton and director Tim Burton, but it was officially confirmed in February 2022. Deadline reported that Brad Pitt‘s Plan B Entertainment company are producing the film alongside Warner Bros – so exciting!
For those who don’t know, the original Beetlejuice was released in 1988 and follows a dead couple, Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis) who are trying to scare away a family that has moved into their old home so enlist the help of exorcist Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton).
Winona Ryder also starred as moody teenager, Lydia Deetz, and the film was directed by the iconic Tim Burton.

Who is in the Beetlejuice 2 cast?
As well as Tim Burton returning to direct the film, Michael Keaton will also reprise his role of Beetlejuice.
Winona Ryder previously expressed interest in reprising her role, and is confirmed to return as Lydia Deetz, while Jenna Ortega will play Lydia's daughter. Justin Theroux will also star in an unknown role.
This is Jenna’s second time working with Tim Burton after he directed episodes of Netflix’s Wednesday – and FYI, season two of Wednesday is coming!
